A Transgender Prom Queen, or “I have a smidge more hope for the future today.”

Middleborough High teen becomes first transgender prom queen – Boston News, Weather, Sports | FOX 25 | MyFoxBoston.

This is definitely the most touching thing I’ve read all day. She seems like a sweet girl, and I’m moved by the acceptance and support she’s received from her classmates. In many part of the country, trans teens can’t even go to their prom as the person they really are. I’m particularly teary-eyed over her desire to be a role model for other young trans people. This is one incredible courageous young lady. Kudos to her mom for standing by her side, and to her principle for developing such a progressive schooll community.

Congratulations, Cody! You are beautiful, and you are doing your community proud. It’s people like you who are going to lead our charge for years to come!
